My newest hobby - Poetry

Photography has been a hobby of mine since I took courses at Houston Technical Institute (HTI), a vocational high school, here in Houston, Texas.  In April 2002, I bought my first digital camera, a Sony S85, and within a few months I had taken well over 300 photos.  I now also have an Olympus Camedia 4000.  I took both cameras on vacation with me (June 2003) to San Diego, to Canada (Sept. 2004), and to New Orleans (Feb. 2005)  for a total of over 400 photos.  Don't worry I won't bore you with all of them here!  LOL

Here I hope to showcase what I think is my most interesting and/or best work including photos that I have restored (see page 2), those that have been digitally enhanced (see pages 3  to 6) and just some great shots (mostly outdoors - see Misc.).

Links to my other webpages (Personal, Vacations, Poetry) are to the left of this paragraph. [For the Canada photos please go to http://adigital.tripod.com/southern_ontario until I can link them here.  Thanks.]

To create the "Welcome Banner" above I took one of my favorite vacation photos (un-enhanced) entitled, "Painted New Mexico", and saved in PhotoSuite where I was able to add text. If you would like to view the original photo as well as others taken in New Mexico just click on the banner.

The photo at the top right is of a Petroglyph (created when a design is pecked, scratched, and abraded or otherwise cut into a cliff, boulder, bedrock, or any natural rock surface) at a park in New Mexico.  Although you can not see the design on this particular Petroglyph, I thought it was a cool photo.

Below it is a photo that I took in New Orleans (February 20050 at a courtyard by the Mississippi River.  The sunlight was filtering through a tree to the left, out of the photo, and it gave it a ghostly affect.  I made the photo black and white and then turned it into a pencil drawing.  I hope to go back to the Crescent to see if this place still exists.
